The STARZ app has two settings for the type of network connection it uses to stream content:
- Cellular or Wi-Fi
- Wi-Fi only (default setting)
Each of those two settings can generate a warning message.
Wi-Fi Message
"Your Wi-Fi connection is poor, and your settings restrict playback over cellular. Tap allow to update your settings to enabled cellular playback."
The above message means you have the default setting to only stream over Wi-Fi in the STARZ app, but your device uses cellular data, or your Wi-Fi connection drops and switches to cellular. If you click on the Allow button, it will give you the option to change the setting to Cellular or Wi-Fi, and you can continue to watch with a cellular connection as shown below:
Cell Message
"Your Wi-Fi connection is poor, and you are now streaming over cellular."
The above message is just a warning once you have selected the Cellular or Wi-Fi option, and you can hit OK to continue watching. Please note when watching over cellular connections, you may incur data charges from your network provider, so we recommend a Wi-Fi connection when possible.
If you wish to change the Cellular and Wi-Fi settings in the app:
- Head to the menu
- Select 'Settings'
- Select 'Application Settings"
- Select 'Cellular Playback Settings
- Change the setting as desired.
